Use this fuse-disconnect system to prep your vehicle to be towed. Simply relocate your car's fuse with this bypass and flip the integrated switch. To drive your car, just flip the switch back on. No need to remove or replace your fuse.

Note: Consult vehicle's owner's manual to determine which fuse to pull. Do not install a fuse in the Blue Ox Fuse ByPass that has more than a 20-amp rating.
Some automobiles can only be towed if you get under the hood and pull a fuse. If you don't remove this fuse before towing, there's a good chance that your car's battery will be drained by the time you reach your destination.
With the Blue Ox Fuse ByPass, once the initial installation is complete, you won't have to remove or replace your fuse again. Just pull the fuse indicated in your car's owner's manual and replace it with the bypass. After you install the Fuse ByPass, insert the removed fuse into the holder of the bypass system. With the fuse installed in this manner, it will still be able to function as needed. Mount the included switch near the fuse box and you're set.
Whenever you need to drive your car, just make sure the switch is flipped into the "on" position. When on, the fuse will be active and your vehicle will function normally. Then, when it comes time to tow, switch the Fuse ByPass to "off." When off, the fuse will be rendered inactive so that you can flat tow your car without its battery being drained.

This product works great for the purpose it is intended. Unfortunately, removing fuse #34 also disabled my 12v accessory and made it impossible to use my Blue Ox Patriot II. Weird because there are separate fuses for those. Therefore I have to return it.

I would not return the fuse bypass kit just yet. Since you have to pull those fuses anyway when towing, what you will need is a 12-volt outlet kit, part # RM-9332. It has wiring to reach your battery and gives power to the braking system. I have a video on a 2010 Honda CR-V that shows the installation. This way you can still have the convenience the fuse bypass kit gives you.
sed on my 2016 Ford C-Max Energi to stop pulling fuse 67 the Passport fuse to reset the MY FORD MOBILE APP and regain control over charging the battery.
( I charge my vehicle at 1 in the Morning ). Pulling that fuse 4 or more times a year to get things working was a real pain not to mention removing the cover each time. Since Ford never resolved the problem
with the communication issue this was a great fix. Thanks etrailer and Bule Ox this is a great work around.
Plug & Play answer for towing my CR-V. No more dead battery from towing all day.
Once again wiring too short for a 2014 Honda CRV to install it where there video shows also it was missing the connector to the fuse block. Wasted tiem and money splicing longer wires in.

It looks like this plugs in behind the panel in twenty fourteen Honda CR Vs as you will see if you watch the install video. It is wire to wire connection and plugs in where the fuse would go.

When two of the three items were no immediately available Davine (via the telephone) in customer service walked me through the process of using an alternative product. She expedited the orders and there were on there way within a couple of days. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable service. The parts fit well and the videos were spot on.
I have installed the Custom Tail light warning and the Trailer connector and it was very easy. I ran the wiring through inside the FIT wiring and it was very easy. Love the way everything snaps together.
I can't wait to install the base plate, trailer hitch receiver as well as the ByPass switch.
All these items will make our Motorhome experience much easier. Thanks etrailer

I installed the product myself without any problems. We just got back from a cross country. We pulled our Honda Fit over 12,000 miles without any issues or concern.
Fuse Bypass switch works great no more dead batteries, I have used it many times in the last year and I can pull my Honda CRV 8hrs or more and battery stays charged. very easy to install. took less than 1 hour to install

After a year Bypass Switch still working as good as the day I installed it, still very satisfied.
Purchased and installed in my 2010 Chevy HHR. Was an easy install, directions are very clear. This allows me to leave the key in the correct position while the vehicle is under tow by my RV and not drain the battery. However, I later determined that this meant my HHR brake lights would not operate when the brakes are applied by my Brake-Buddy system. I did install wiring from the RV to the brake lights of the HHR but that did not run the third/middle brake light. So I ultimately decided to install a system that connects my RV power to a charger on the HHR battery so I could leave the power on and have all my brake lights operating. As it turns out I could have done without this item. So it would be a choice of this item or an RV powered charging system depending upon how you would like your brake lights to operate.
Great product, installed in 5 minutes. Will really save me a lot of time and keep me from getting on my knees with a flashlight and straining to pull and later reinstall the fuse! Item was installed in my 2012 Equinox.

The Blue Ox Accessory Kit for the Aventa LX Tow Bar, the extra (2) Diodes, the Fuse By-Pass Switch, the Aventa LX Tow Bar and the Patriot Brake Unit all arrived in tact and in a timely manner. I really appreciate the help in defining what I need to tow my '09 Yukon behind our new Newmar Dutch Star. So far the wiring is complete - and works! I hope to have the Tow Bar hardware done this week - i'll try and get a picture. Thanks again!
I installed your device in a Buick Terraza to disengage the power sliding door control when the intermittent alarm sounds while driving. It saves me from having to pull over and pull the fuse. Thank you for your product.

I recently ordered the Blue Ox fuse by pass switch for my Honda CRV. My order was sent out promptly and the staff at e trailer were knowledgeable and friendly! Please note: If you have a 2013 Honda CRV, this install takes a while due to the position of the fuse panel .Honda uses the mini fuses and you must purchase a standard fuse to place inline.....no big deal but, small hands and a contortionists body would make installation very much easier.
Ive found etrailer is the best place to order anything for trailer or towing products. They have the product I want in stock and do a good job getting it to me. One of the few places I will use the name of the company in my key word search for a product.
Justin was very nice and helpful over the phone, no pictures yet because it's kind of cold in Massachusetts so I will have to wait until it's a little warmer. I will install it myself. This will be the fifth vehicle I've done this on, just follow the directions.
Received the part in a quickly amazing amount of time. Part came as advertised. However when I was installing the item into my 2014 Honda CRV the stem that installs in the removed fuse socket broke. Not finding a replacement part I called etrailer and they immediately responded by sending me a new part. Such customer service is truly noteworthy. Keep up the great service. I will continue to use etrailer as my source for parts and will highly recommend etrailer to friends and family.
I installed it & it worked part of the time so I took it out & added a charging wire to the battery from the RV. Apparently my fuse block terminals are loose.
My product a Blue Ox fuse bypass switch for a towed vehicle was received sooner than expected because etrailer upgraded my shipping at no additional cost. I haven't yet installed it to check performance, but expect to have no problems. Thanks eTrailer.

Product is exactly as described and delivered on a timely basis. The only questions is why does UPS go from Colorado to Mo to Nashville to Knoxville then back to Nashville then to Clarksville. It seems to me they should of dropped it off the first time thru Nashville and would of received a day sooner.

Since installing the Blue Ox bypass we have gone to Texas and back with absolutely no problems. This has eliminated the battery drain problem totally. Great product as stated previously. Thank you George and E-Trailer
